Nurse / Midwife

20 hours per year (annual cycle)

Registered nurses, enrolled nurses, and midwives registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) under AHPRA must complete a minimum of 20 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) each registration year. CPD activities must be relevant to your scope of practice and documented as evidence of ongoing learning.

Medical Practitioner

50 hours per year (annual cycle)

Medical practitioners registered with the Medical Board of Australia under AHPRA must complete a minimum of 50 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) per year under the Recognised Medical Practice (RMP) framework. CPD must include a mix of reviewing performance, measuring outcomes, and educational activities across your scope of practice.

Pharmacist

40 hours per 3-year cycle (minimum 10 hours/year)

Pharmacists registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia under AHPRA must complete at least 40 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in each 3-year registration period, with a minimum of 10 hours in any one year. CPD must be documented and relevant to your scope of practice as a pharmacist.
