Chinese Medicine Practitioner

20 hours

Cycle: 20 hours per year (annual cycle)
Renewal: 30 November

Chinese medicine practitioners must complete at least 20 hours of CPD each registration year, including interactive CPD and professional-issues learning, and maintain a portfolio of learning goals, planned CPD activities, reflection and activity evidence.

Registration year: 1 December to 30 November; AHPRA registration renewal is 30 November.

Chinese medicine practitioners complete at least 20 hours of CPD each registration year, including at least five interactive hours and at least four hours relating to professional issues, and maintain a CPD portfolio.

Category and topic requirements

Interactive CPD (minimum 5 hours): At least five hours must involve interactive CPD with other practitioners.
Scope-relevant CPD: The remaining CPD should be relevant to the practitioner's Chinese medicine registration type and scope of practice.
Professional issues (4 hours): At least four hours must relate to professional issues.

Standalone requirements

CPD portfolio: Maintain a portfolio documenting learning goals, planned CPD activities, and reflection on how CPD activities are expected to improve or have improved practice.

Caveats

If registered for only part of a registration period, the standard sets a pro-rata requirement of five hours for every three months of registration remaining in the period.
CPD records must be maintained for five years.
